Planning a 2026 stay at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter? You need to see these Disney tips before you book, because Walt Disney World just re-categorized the entire resort, and if you aren’t careful, you’ll pay a “Preferred” premium for a room that is loud, bright, and busy. In this Port Orleans French Quarter room review, I’m breaking down the 2026 room types, showing you a full Port Orleans French Quarter room tour, and revealing the “secret” buildings that offer the best value for your money.
We are diving deep into Disney planning with the best rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter and—more importantly—identifying the Port Orleans French Quarter rooms to avoid if you actually want to sleep past 7:00 AM. From the new furniture and hard-surface flooring to the “Sassagoula Warning” about those early morning boat horns, this is the ultimate survival guide for the smallest resort at Walt Disney World.
In this video, you’ll discover:

My favorite is building 3 with a view of the fountain. Building 4 on the inside of the resort is also good. Close to the food court and bus stop. You can hear the Epcot music from the bus stop at night. Hollywood Studios is close too. But in early morning if the bus fills up you don't go to POR before heading to Magic Kingdom.
This is such a great resort. I like top floor with river view. So peaceful, and no building is too far from anything.
I love having the Ol Man Island pool at POR to use in addition to Dubloon lagoon.
