Needing some inspiration on what I could put ontop of the fireplace that won’t actually burn, it does get warm ontop and I’m worried about going to bed with something sitting ontop of it. Any ideas?

Metal or ceramic stuff works great on fireplace tops – I have some iron bird sculptures that just get warm but never any problems. Stone pieces are good too, maybe some nice rocks or ceramic vases if you want something simple but looks nice.

How hot does the surface get? I’ve seen people cook on this type of fireplace. Maybe a cast iron pan for some outdoorsy vibe?

Surprised this stove is installed on an interior wall. Where does the chimney go?

My grandma had a cast iron kettle she put on top of her wood burning fireplace. Would fill it with water when the fire was going to humidify the air!
