  1. My mum bought vesta curry an d it was disgusting.we tried alot of the
convenience food did okay in the UK but my mum and I resisted. My dae stuff,ONCE

  2. American Beauty made an amazing boxed dinner called "dumplet dinners" , they were delicious but they have quit making them.

  3. Don't they still make Rice-a-Roni?? Some of these, like prawn cocktail, were never an American thing. We make shrimp cocktail with a ketchup and horseradish sauce.

Batchelor's has never been an American brand that I know of. My mom and dead were solid middle class, but everything was homemade. I was an only child, and not allowed much refined sugar. The desserts were few and far between, at least for me.

  4. Does anyone remember using dry strawberry jello and coconut (?) And formed into strawberries??? My best friend's mom made these for picnics and social occasions.

  5. These weren't only middle class food. Everyone ate tv dinners on the 1970s. Middle class, working class lower class etc. I'm from Wisconsin

  6. My mother was a good cook, and everything she made was prepared from scratch. In the 70's I started trying some of these frozen meals and every time, after eating, I was sick to my stomach. It took me awhile but I finally figured it out. Preservatives are not my friend.
