hi all – I've seen a few other posts asking for tips or areas to explore and thought I might take the opportunity to ask the community for some help. I have been collecting wine for a while now and tend to go deep in areas that I like (bordeaux, Napa). I have a resoundingly red-focused cellar currently and am starting to branch out and explore white wines of the world and am open to thoughts and opinions. It isn't as if I don't like white wine but I definitely have a preference for reds

I am open to any thoughts, recommendations, etc for white/red/sparkling/anything!

  1. You can’t go wrong with Littorai – especially when its sourced from Hirsch fruit.

    No Zinfandel!

For whites, Loire valley. Riesling. Italy has plenty of options

I’d put in a shout for some ports as natural/traditional bedfellows to the BDX/Napa palette. Colheita port is one of the world’s most underpriced luxuries. For that matter, Douro dry reds would also probably be your type of thing. And some Riesling for heavens sake!

Woah, actually a first time seeing someone own Valli wines outside of NZ. I can see you are not a great whites fan, how about some North Island reds to add along your Coleraines? La Collina is great, Dry River and Ata Rangi make good PN and reds.

I also like drinkin cab sav, and usually love to drink them next to tempranillos if not next to another cab sav. So why dont you give some temps a try?
