for more information on our Four Seasons Paris hotel.
Discover the amazing history behind Four Seasons Paris’s extensive wine cellar called, “La Cave” introduced by George V’s Director of Fine Dining, Eric Beaumard.
Constructed from an old stone quarry that was used to build the Arc de Triomphe in 1928, “La Cave” has a very rough and rustic feel to it. Before Four Seasons acquired “La Cave,” it housed only 50 types of wine. Today George V’s wine library features one of the most extensive wine collections in the world, housing over 2,800 types of wine for a total of 50,000 bottles.
The history of “La Cave” is fascinating. During WWII, it was sealed by the hotel managers to make sure the wine did not fall into enemy hands. Tucked 14 meters underground, it is considered one of the best kept secrets in Paris. Come enjoy the splendors of Paris and the extensive wine collection featured at Four Seasons Paris today.
