This is Parmentier d’agneau — made with 7-hour braised lamb, buttery mash, and absolutely no frozen peas.

Crispy top, rich lamb filling, and mash on another level… this one might start a war in the comments 👀

  1. They should rename ‘France’ to just ‘extra’

You guys could take a literal piece of s**t and figure out a way to charge 500 dollars a plate for it

  3. Him: can the French make shepherds pie better?…

Me, a British man: my brother across the channel, we have made the WW2 ration food our entire legacy, kiss our coloniser behinds.

  4. Just recently started seeing a shepherd, this was my motivation to ask her if she likes shepherd's pie so I can cook for her

  5. Other than the breadcrumbs, that's just a traditional English shepherd's pie recipe.

Minced lamb isn't traditional, sliced lamb is.

  6. Peas on the side alla matheson – also personal opinion: the mixture looks a little bit too fine. I think larger chunks of carrots, lamb, parsnips, mushrooms, etc. taste better when combined with the smooth texture of the mashed potatoes.

  7. I mean historically shepards pie was made with whatever meat was around and soon yo go bad. It could even historically include pork, beef or duck

  8. Much love, what I can say is the french can elevate dishes like no one else, but the british are great at making things fast! Hand in hand, french versions of british dishes can make amazing things!

  9. Legitimate question – what is different in the French version compared to the British?

  10. Is the French version better (said while speaking English) DONT BE SO RUDE (you have enough good cuisine as it is, give us this atleast)

  11. The butter in the mash wasnt emulsified properly and you can literally see how greasy it is at the beginning when the spoon scoops into the dish.

  12. French technique dictates yeas this will taste better. When I saw you making the mash, I was like yeah he’s used the skins we’ve lost this

  13. Id say a vast majority of french cooking is great food. Therea a handful of things i would never touch, but its probably an 80% good 20% bad ratio
