I feel the issue with Paris and coffee is that we (tourists) don't have time to search for coffee.. we find one close to wherever we are spending more time in.. and the owners of these places that serve coffee are simply too lazy to give a good product because they know we probably wont be back. Whereas where I live.. ALL the coffee is good! I don't have to search for it. But I have taken many of your recommendations and will get Paris in my pocket soon.. if the world doesn't explode and I can still GET to France..

This vlog could easily be titled Finding Bad Coffee in France is Easy. In my travels around and through France I've encountered good coffee so rarely that I can distinctly remember each cup.

Any tips for getting decent medium or dark roast in Paris? All modern coffee shops only sell light to light medium roast and that's fine, sometimes. But it is so incredibly hard finding good medium or dark roasted coffee in Paris. It does exist!

Most coffee shop in France use UHT milk. That's a major contributor to terrible coffee taste.
I get weird looks when I ask if they use UHT or fresh (pasteurised) milk, because for most french, including many casual batista's, UHT is the only type of milk in existence.
I really need better timing. We’ll be in Germany for the party and will already be in Europe when the passports are mailed out. Have you considered having somewhere in Paris that people can purchase a passport? We arrive in Paris 3/30.
