How Does Allura Compare?
We evaluate the Oceania Allura experience against the “Big 7” of luxury and premium cruising:
Regent Seven Seas: Comparing all-inclusive vs. Oceania’s “Your World Included.”
Viking Ocean: Comparing Scandinavian minimalism vs. Allura’s residential luxury.
Silversea & Seabourn: Testing the “Ultra-Luxury” service gap.
Crystal: Analyzing the classic luxury vs. the modern Allura build.
Azamara: Comparing small-ship intimacy with Allura’s updated tech.
Celebrity Cruises: Does the Allura offer enough “extra” to justify the jump from a Celebrity Edge-class Infinite Veranda?

Fabulous review Bill- one small observation, isn’t it ‘Maths’ rather than ‘Math’ ( assuming you are a Brit) – apologies in advance for being pedantic😂
Another great video
We did a 25-day cruise of the baltic in British isles on Vista last summer. We're elite members of princess, but we're tired of the nickel and diming and princess is going in the wrong direction on the ship size. We really like the Vista. The menu in the main dining room was the only thing we can think was up to par but all the other restaurants were fantastic. Going on a New York to Iceland cruise in July on the Vista again. Will continue to save oceana when if the itinerary is what we're looking for. The one thing I noticed on the Vista for that cruise we just did was it's very white. Maybe cuz we're from California which has a diverse population and princess has a lot more diverse cruise members but it just seemed a little different and that it was very white. Only negative is on our 25 day cruise the closet was too small.
Looks great. Usually the person whose YouTube channel it is, is the only one in the video. Off putting
Could hardly see the bathroom in your room because some was in the way. Same with everything
I've seen negative videos about the food. Wonder if it was just that particular ship and who was in charge at the time?
I thought it's pronounced- "Oh-shan-ee-ya'. Because there's an 'I' in it. Ocean -ia? Not 'Oh-she-anah😊' .Or else it would be spelt, 'Oceana',no?
Thanks Bill. We are doing our first Azamara cruise in May and now you have convinced me to consider Oceania for our January Caribbean cruise. One question is there a drink package or are cocktails ala carte?
I reckon they've gone no kids so to attract customers from MSC Explora.
Were those restaurants included? I would find that very frustrating. The anxiousness of booking in. It's like they do it to get guests to pay up early the total cost of the cruise. I want to relax on my cruises, not have to worry about being able to enjoy my time onboard 😮
My wife and I have done Oceania a few times now…. His grades for dining are spot on. In fact, the dining room I would’ve given a 5 (as well as many of the other food stations) I don’t know why they can’t sort that out. Specialty dining much better! We’re in our 50s but much prefer the slower (for adult) vibe of the ships.
Nice, though not sure there's much difference between Vista and Allure. I couldn't see the difference.
Our first cruise as very young adults was on Carnival's Jubilee… What a fantastic cruise, the boat was smaller, no lines, great food and service, no waiting for anything, you got to know everyone and it was the best. We then tried larger and large boats… HATE them, so much so that my husband won't cruise. We are looking at smaller ships and this was helpful… we are looking at the Ritz cruise and even smaller… these videos are so helpful thank you!
Looks fantastic Bill.
No guarantees of eating in one of the specialty restaurants is troubling. That type of stress doesn’t suit me, especially if I’m paying Concierge level fares. The whole ship looks all too beige. I do however like the vibe of this ship from your video. Your goal of “how cruising used to be” is my goal too!
When are you going to try Cunard Queens Grill?…when you “own” your table with the same dedicated staff for the whole voyage, a true luxury in my book.
Another great video from the most romantic couple at sea! 🙂 We have done only two cruises, starting last year, but both have been with Oceania. I think one of the most underrated aspects of their offering is their itineraries. Our Hong Kong to Tokyo was 18 nights with 14 ports and 4 overnighters. Their Sydney to Papeete was similarly port-intensive. Totally agree about their slogan 'Finest cuisine at sea' and wish they would revert to 'Your world, your way', as even though they are now more inclusive, they do retain that optional element with drink packages, excursions, etc. Three questions if you have time – 1) Why only 8/10 for ship design – were there aspects you didn't like, or it felt a but generic? 2) We like to swim – did you notice whether many people used the pool for laps? and did it ever get busy? 3) With children that are older, how do you feel about the 18 years and older cut off – if your children are or were younger would you have liked to take them on this line?
We’ve cruised Oceania numerous times. We are fine with the new adults-only policy, but it won’t really matter. We’ve never seen more than a handful of kids onboard, typically well-behaved. But we cruise in shoulder season. Maybe this will matter in Alaska for example.
Always enjoy your views. Can’t wait for Part 2. BTW, love Mrs. R’s outfits. That black and white evening outfit is a ❤.
Thank you for this awesome informative and enjoyable video !!! BRILLIANT !!! I would love to travel on the Oceania Allura someday !
Allura going to #2 spot, right after Queen Mary 2 sail. LOVE your videos!❤😊
Excellent commentary and visuals as usual. Thankyou for this one Bill. Definitely going on my bucket list. 💯 percent my type of cruise and destination. You both looked happy to be on this particular cruise. There is something for everyone isn’t there?!
This is an excellent video. Thanks so much. Looking forward to volume 2.
I loved this video so much!!! I’m so jealous of your lovely wife’s abs. Lol She looks fantastic! My only disappointment is that you didn’t say how much you paid for this cruise without any add ons and for how many days. I would love to know the price point. Good job on the video!
You did not mention Seabourn ?Is Ultra luxury
Low key entertainment, wonderful book me up
We were on Allura for 10 days recently. We loved everything but the main dining room, slow and mixed up orders. Loved the afternoon tea and Aquamar dining especially. Also the new waffle area. We had a great time and booked again!
Hi bill…we absolutely luv your vlogs and wife😜…stunning❤ but plz plz plz stop going to USA….there putting brown n black people in concentration camps..they hate gay…drag..trans people…we're old gay married farts from Ireland have stop going….luvvvvvvvvvv your channel…just luv it…❤❤❤❤❤❤❤from gaytriots Ireland 🇮🇪
Excellent video thanks Bill and I love all of Mrs R’s outfits. ❤
Did I miss something though, you said clearly that there is no ship within a ship concept on Oceania, however the Aquamar experience seems to be exactly that. So if you don’t have a concierge cabin, you would not have access to Aquamar?
Another excellent video and lovely ship.
On the scale 1 to 10 I rate your reviews solid 9. Don't know who is 10, but majority of other cruise ship reviewers are at best 6 on the scale to 10.
Superb editing, excellent narration and coverage of entire ship without fuss and fanfare. 👏👏👏
We love watching your videos and living vicariously through you both. We are experiencing "Luxury" travels and hope to do a sailing one day. Thank you for your videos! Aloha 🥂
