France, June 1940. The darkness of occupation descends upon the quiet town of Bussy.

In this heartbreaking historical drama, the lives of the townspeople are shattered when a German convoy rolls in. Captain Muller, a handsome but cold Wehrmacht officer, commandeers the estate of Madame Dubois. While his soldiers loot the town and hold a gluttonous feast in the square, mocking the starving locals, Muller sets his sights on Anna, the Madame’s beautiful daughter.

The film explores the terrifying contrast between the occupier’s luxury and the occupied’s suffering. As the soldiers celebrate their victory with wine and fire, Anna is forced to serve the man who holds her life in his hands. The tension builds to a devastating climax on the final night of the occupation—a night that will leave scars forever.

“The Fateful Night” is a gritty, hyper-realistic look at the human cost of war, the loss of innocence, and the silent tragedies that occurred behind closed doors during World War II.
