Bienvenue à LYON 💛 Many people think I’m from Paris, but I’m actually from Lyon, la plus belle ville, a truly beautiful city in France!

From the places I’ve loved since childhood, to the food I grew up eating, and of course the iconic bouchons lyonnais… let’s enjoy the day together.

This video is extra special to me as it’s the very first one I’ve ever made in Lyon 🥹 If you’d like to support my channel, you can tap the Super Thanks button on YouTube. It helps me and supports my work on this channel 🙂

  3. Wow! I did not know Lyon had so much to offer! Thank you for showing us this hidden gem city!

  4. Très belle vidéo en hommage à la ville la plus gourmande de France ou il y a tant à découvrir .

  5. Merci beaucoup. Thank you, Gabrielle, for showing us around your home city. It was lovely to hear your childhood stories and to see such wonderful food! I must go to Lyon to try the tarte à la praline and the quenelle de brochet!!

  6. Lyon is lovely,I'd love you to show ' LA ficelle ' the furnicular railway that goes up to the Roman ruins and the church on the top of the hill and the views over the town from there(where the coin was put on the cushion). I didn't have time to go over the river to visit the museum over the river from the old town but it's said to be very good,I think it's a museum of fine art ,is that correct?, I didn't get to go in the church you showed near the start of the video either as it was Monday and it was shut ,it would be nice to see inside.
The food all looks amazing,no wonder Lyon is the gourmet capital of France
Great video as always,Merci beaucoup x

  7. Wow! You're such a great ambassador of #france #paris and, now, #lyon. To be honest, I've known Lyon to be Paris' #foodcapital; but your love for Lyon's food, culture and ambience make it exponentially more of a #mustsee France destination. Generally, when you speak of Paris your, beautiful face, lights up with so much, genuine, appreciation for the country. That I didn't think you could be more joyous about Lyon, but you are. So like, another, "great female travel videographer", #sambrown, #frenchwithelle has made Lyon #aplacetolove I especially like how you matched the locations and their "atmospheric qualities", such as the authentically rustic decor of Bouchon Tupin vs the modernist interior designs of Maison Pepins with the charming stories of you and your grandfather. When you were "son,…ma petite cherie." One can really see the logistical work you've invested in production, down to managing indoor vs outdoor cinematography, post editing and soundtrack. So, I've learned that in France it's "bad form" to give, too much high praise; and I should just say "pas mal." But, I'll just be a dumb American; and say this episode was, "superbe(!)" technically and artistically.

  8. Amie Gabrielle !!! Another great vlog. Merci, my husband and I have Lyon on our list to visit and explore. Love Mai Mai, wonderful companion and lovable. Bisous Bisous, à la prochaine ton amis dès Los Angeles, California. ❤

  9. I have been to Paris many times and I have had some misses. Visited Lyon for first time last year and every meal was very good to amazing.

You add the much lower price point and Lyon wins on food easily!

  10. Hey Gabrielle, you need to show us a photo of yourself when you were small (the age when your grandparents took you to the museum)!!

  11. Another exqusite video, full of absolute delights. I have been to Lyon, but you have opened my eyes to the beautiful places to visit. Yes please to a series on Lyon. I would love that and I hope others will say so too. Merci.

  12. Lyon is one of my favourite French cities. So much warmer-feeling and looking than grey Paris. One complaint: where, oh where, are the quintessential French shutters? 🤷‍♂️ One of my many favourite things about France (and Italy, come to that) are the gorgeous shutters all over the country in most villages, towns, cities. For some reason, they disappear in Lyon. 🫤 And I didn’t see that many in Grenoble, either! Shutter-complaints aside, Lyon easily makes my top 7 fave French cities! 👍 Ty for upload.

  13. What a charming city! Thank you for sharing. I could not resist some of those shops. You are very strong to stay on message and not get lured into a shopping trip, lol!

  14. Lyon is the first town in which I had a meal with two entrées, two main dishes, a plate of cheese and two desserts.

  15. was looking forward to this video all week – merci beaucoup for all the great recs! can’t wait to try these spots when i visit lyon in september 😊

  16. Hi magic people! Thomas really was returning the favour wasn't he? I'd never imagined an animal consciously doing this but now I know. I haven't looked at your videos for a little while and it's so nice to be back. xxxx

  17. Last year I went to Lyon with my mom and sister, and went to Vieux Lyon, what a beautiful city. Defenitly need to come back and try the things I missed like Le coussin de Lyon. Thanks for all your videos, I enjoy them all, and always feel like I need to hurry and comeback to France!

  18. How delightful! Thank you for posting this feature about Lyon! The praline pastries and desserts look gorgeous – why do they have a red color? I always love your videos!

  19. Nice introduction to Lyons…very authentic….I hope you can do more cities like Montpellier, Toulouse or Bordeaux
