I was so happy that The Wicker man got a special blu ray final cut that added so much more to the story and narrative instead of jumping around at points. I really strongly agree with your points on this.
5:15 I will have to politely disagree on that edit, the line in the edited version is funny in it's own right, thanks to the fact the Coen's themselves actually wrote the replacement lines to be as absurd as possible.
Props for using the Mad Tv sketch clip for the Wal Mart portion.
This reason and others is why we have a catalog of movies on DVD/Blu ray/4k. To many times big brothers thinks they are doing this for our own good. And 'buying' on streaming services is just a license you own nothing. Amazon, ebay, garage sales & thrift stores. 1-10 bucks get you about anything.
As of now, the only Blu Ray of the French connection that is in print (and not new old stock) are the edited versions being distributed by Disney. Eventually all that new old stock will be bought up, or, if Disney has their way, dumped in a landfill.
Hey Mark i would like to say that i'm glad to be back watching your channel as 10 years ago on old account i no longer have access to i watched your Spaced Out Japanimation review with me mostly forgetting about your channel after that initial video when suddenly youtube reccomends me this video out of the blue & so i decide to listen for a bit with the voice sounding familar so i sort by oldest with eventually finding the video i had vague memories of. In conclusion Mark i am subscribing so I don't forget about this channel again. In conclusion i am honestly very impressed that despite your small subscriber count you've stayed committed & have been uploading video reviews for nearly 18 years
w…..o……w……..! That is just terrible. What kind of maniac thinks this is a good things to do to a movie?
I remember watching that Robocop sanitised version on a TV channel in the UK, it was hilariously bad! I'm so glad I bought earlier released physical media versions of all these films if they're starting to cut any reissued ones going forward.
I remember channel 13 in l.a. broadcast the deer hunter UNCUT because they thought it was an important movie that should be seen. I watched it in my kitchen as a kid
Cool video, man. New fan. You have a perfect voice for this. If you'd ever consider recording voiceovers for other channels, look us up sometime.
I had no idea Zach Cregger made a movie without the Whitest Kids gang…
Censorship = thought control + vandalism.
I could of sworn I just saw French connection when it was on MAX. I distinctly remember them using slurs In the film and making me uncomfortable with the character. If they removed it then it would of made me like him slightly more. Crazy that within a year it can be completely removed.
It's currently available for UK viewers on BBC iPlayer without the cut.
Corporations deciding what you can and shouldn't see
My import version of French Connection 2-pack is uncut.
