Day trip from Poole, Dorset to Cherbourg on the BarFleur Ferry on Friday 15th March 2024. As a foot passenger, the total cost for a return trip was £26.00 and to park the car in the port car park for the duration was £15.00. I felt the need to liberate 4 bottles of my favourite French wine, which is Sauternes, a sweet white dessert wine. Please enjoy a look around the facilities on board, as well as a good walk around the Cherbourg main shopping centre, situated about a mile walk from the ferry terminal in Cherbourg. The featured full English breakfast with a coffee was 11 Euro’s.
Anyone on holiday in Poole or surrounding area, this will be a great day out to enjoy a relatively inexpensive day out. Don’t forget your passport though. Ferry left Poole at 08.30 am, and we left Cherbourg at 6.15 pm. About 6 hours ashore, so plenty of time to ravage the duty free allowance. For a day out, this was a steal for the price, and I can thoroughly recommend it. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the trip and visiting Centre Commercial, Les Eleis, Cherbourg, France. I think Spe so now on the back deck of the bar Flur currently overlooking the harbor where all the containers are we haven’t left yet we’ll be going shortly it’s uh overcast it’s not raining um so I’m looking forward to a good Crossing um not so many people on the ship or boat
Today this is the um helicopter pad hopefully they won’t need to use that today but um looking across the uh walking across the the back deck these all the lifeboats hopefully we won’t need to use those either today sorry if it’s blowy you get too much wind noise and on
The on this side is browny Island just to the right there and um as we look that way that’s towards weum and P that way and we scan round you can see it’s a little bit overcast and dark and blowy and uh we’ll walk a bit forward

Um they just heading back to very terminal and um I made an executive decision to have a stroll back through the car for shopping center using the phone looks quite a fine afternoon so if it is I’ll take a scoll back to to the f I did walk around a bit

Shops like so many and of the bigger shopping centers are closed you can see looking at the uh the door exit on the far on the far viewing I can it’s pretty clear and uh I think it might well be maybe two to walk back to the
Boat got about 45 minutes before I need to get back on which is more than enough time to um enjoy stroll back which is good so I’ve got my um four bottles of wine which is paid for the trip the main entrance into the uh C 4 shopping center here in uh cherborg
This is the Columbus Cafe as we go out oh yeah it’s quite cleared up quite nicely that’s a hotel just here opposite the ENT as I turn around this is the entrance to carth just going to keep walking backward for the last couple of three or four times I come here it’s always

Road and then go to your right stay on the right hand side and if you continue to walk to stay on the left hand side sorry if the wind’s buffeting but um this is the sherbo shopping center car for there is and over the river just across the way is the Sher
Borg Town shopping Cent shopping shops it reminds me of old wouth it’s got that sort of Dorset Seaside feel to it all but the I think the last couple of times I’ve walked away from here it’s rain but it didn’t rain on in and I did get a bit wet but

Road as far as you can walk you’ll come to the furry terminal the last time I came they changed it walk across terminal you could pretty much cross straight across onto the main road but this time because they’ve changed all of the U pedestrian way you’ve got
To walk about um an eigh of a mile out of the way to get onto but looking out is uh too bad today so I don’t mind having a straw I had a couple of beers only two two pints of beer or two 500 mil of hinin thank you very

Times I’ve been coming back from um it’s C me out a little bit by decided to rain quite heavily substantially in fact as it did on the way in this morning or this afternoon but this evening it seems to be um respectable quite so un forthcoming now last game this
Um filmed it but this particular Junction was absolutely packed was J packed with um traffic looks like and remodern ised which is good see the re I’m pretty you should get an idea of um should get an IDE of all of the um traffic that was about at this particular Junction last
Year and if we’ have turned on the way in if we’ have gone right here this would have taken us into the uh into sherbo so this is the part that reminds me of um Paul and way dors it there’s always uh lots of little boats pleasure boats pleasure trips and

Back to meet the ferry I can have a sit down and even if sneaky chance I may even be able to get another another pint of um or another sneaky beer and there’s absolutely no way that I’m going to break into my s terms those are for special occasions Only I’m going to call out a day at the moment I’ve got um probably to get back to the uh terminal when I get there I’ll put the camera back on and uh see where they are just hope for the enjoy the sights and sounds of Sher Borg
