Bonjour Everyone, It’s The Hungry Curator at Maison Danel, a French Patisserie and salon de tea in San Francisco. This is the creme de la creme of French restaurants serving high tea in the Bay, and they go all out in decorating for the Holiday Season. You can order at the counter and take pastries to go, but I recommend the Holiday Tea service. It comes with a tea of your choice, sparkling wine topped with sorbet, (kind of like a 21 plus rootbeer float) and a preset menu of savory tea sandwiches and sweets that are almost too beautiful to eat. We loved the ham and cheese croissant, apple turnovers and chocolate eclair, and especially appreciated the earl grey whipped cream that comes on the side. This is an excellent day-date idea, special occasion with your favorite francophile friends, or way to host family for the season. Either way you now have an excuse to get dressed up and eat authentic French sweets. Au revoir!
