This month’ episode will delve into the fascinating similarities and parallels between tea and wine.
Tea and grape vines are both plants that need very specific climatic conditions and environments to thrive. Once harvested, both grapes and tea need to be processed as quickly as possible in order to retain their natural flavors. The similarities don’t end with how tea and wine are made. How they are tasted have lots in common too.
Yasmin, during her recent stay in France, met up with Paul Jacqueson a renowned winegrower in Rully in the Burgundy region famous for its wines, who explained the different stages of wine making and tasting.
Drawing parallels and similarities in tea making and tasting will be Sri Lankan Aneesha Peiris with her family background in the tea trade and specializing in marketing.
Yasmin’s demonstration of Coq-au-Vin, a well- known French dish will be a highlight of the show as she, together with her co-host Kumar, present the show over Tea for Two !
