This Nashville hot honey chicken biscuit is crispy, spicy, buttery, and just straight up ridiculous.
We’re talking crunchy fried chicken, hot oil glaze, sweet honey butter, and a flaky homemade biscuit that actually holds everything together.

This one hits hard—sweet, heat, crunch, and that soft buttery biscuit to balance it out.

If you like real comfort food that doesn’t taste cheap, this is it.

🛒 INGREDIENTS
🐔 Chicken + Marinade
1.5–2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
🥣 Dredge
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
½–1 tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
🌶️ Nashville Hot Oil
3 tbsp hot frying oil
1–2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tbsp honey
🍯 Hot Honey Butter
½ cup butter
⅓ cup honey
1 tsp cayenne (adjust to taste)
🧈 Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp cold butter
¾–1 cup buttermilk
🥬 Slaw
1 bag coleslaw mix
¼ cup mayo
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
salt & pepper
🥒 Optional
Dill pickle slices
👨‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS
1. Marinate Chicken

Mix buttermilk and spices. Add chicken and refrigerate at least 1 hour (overnight is better).

2. Make Biscuits
Mix dry ingredients
Cut in cold butter until crumbly
Add buttermilk and mix lightly
Fold dough 3–4 times
Flatten to 1 inch thick
Cut biscuits (don’t twist)
Bake at 425°F for 14–18 minutes
Brush with butter
3. Prep Dredge

Mix all dredge ingredients.
Add 2–3 tbsp buttermilk into flour and mix to create clumps.

4. Fry Chicken
Heat oil to 325–350°F
Coat chicken heavily in dredge
Rest 10–15 minutes
Fry 5–7 minutes per side until 165°F internal
5. Make Hot Oil

Mix hot oil with cayenne, paprika, brown sugar, and salt.
Brush or spoon over fried chicken.

6. Make Hot Honey Butter

Melt butter, mix with honey and cayenne.

7. Make Slaw

Mix all ingredients and chill.

8. Build
Bottom biscuit
Light slaw
Crispy chicken
Hot oil + honey butter
Pickles
Top biscuit
🔥 NOTES
Don’t skip cornstarch → that’s your crunch
Don’t pour sauce too early → keeps it crispy
Keep biscuit thick → holds everything together
