Today on our 9-month Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise we are in Montevideo Uruguay enjoying the wonderful wines and culture of the region. We Visit a local winery where we have a wonderful tasting experience with tapas and an amazing show from local performers. We also discuss the “Flooding” that happened on the ship and have a GREAT sushi and sake paring at the onboard Japanese Restaurant.

Well welcome back everyone to our 274 Night 9month Ultimate World Cruise adventure and today well we’re going to apologize a little bit we’re going to be whining a little bit in uguay should we have a little cheese with that I think we’re going to have a

Lot of cheese with that wine welcome to living Phase 2 hi I’m Mike and I’m Nancy and we’re empty nesters striving to live life to the fullest and we’re living that full life aboard serenade the Seas on Rural Caribbean’s 274 Night Ultimate World Cruise Adventure that’s right so today we’re going to show you a couple C days

And then we cruise into the beautiful city of mono Uruguay um this one’s really neat um I this was a nice surprise real Caribbean did for us when we booked the ultimate World Cruise um they we knew they included seven uh World Wonder tours um if you were at a

Certain level of their uh Crown and Anchor uh loyalty program and then later they actually added four more uh excursions that are included called Royal Caribbean escapes that’s right so this is the first one that we’re going to encounter here and we’ll tell you about that but before we do that let’s

Just tell you a little bit about um we had three Cay between uh Rio de Janeiro our last video and which had we had New Year’s Eve at cooka Cabana Beach and all that and so we had three C days um before we got to Mont which was probably

Good to to recover after New Year’s Eve our first C day was um January the 1st we’re recuperating after New Year’s Eve and one we did go for a walk around the ship we did got got a nice start to the new year with a nice walk that’s

Right and later on they had an egg drop which was fun to watch as they dropped raw eggs from the ninth floor down to the fourth floor in the and they’d made little parachutes yeah it was great they could use anything on the ship they

Could find um and to kind of make these Contraptions and it was really fun it wasn’t just the kids that people got really involved in it while the egg drop was going on this is when we started having the hurricane Force w we had a little excitement sting

Was like stay out stay off the 12th floor that that’s now closed say stay indoors and and the ship really was listing to one side surprisingly it wasn’t rocking horribly it was really just leaning just a little bit leaning yeah because of the Winds hitting one

Side um this is also where we’d like to maybe address something some of you may have saw on Tik Tok the ship was flooding or taking on water or no that there was a door on the 12th floor that was an automatic um glass sliding door

That you used to go from um where the elevator banks are out to the walking Track on 12 and all that had happened was when these winds picked up the rain was coming like crazy crazy it activated the the um door it thought somebody was trying to get there you know and the

Door opened and then it wouldn’t close again and the rain just was blowing in if you can imagine 60 mph winds blowing rain that’s what happened and that’s where the water came in up on the 12th floor and they got they actually in in Fairly short order got the door closed

And then they just had to clean up all the water so there was no danger to the ship nothing really happened it was just some water got on the 12 Flor it did affect the elevators but they had those they had one of them up and running very

Very shortly and then the other two cuz there’s a total of three elevators um the other two were then running the next yeah was the Ford elevator bank which is the one we normally use so yeah we actually were up there cuz our room is forward we’re on the ninth deck um and

So we actually walk through and it’s like wow there’s a lot of but boy Royal Caribbean had Crews up there and uh and they got everything dried out yeah they dried everything out really well and at this point now when we’re recording this you can’t even tell anything happen so

We just wanted to kind of set the record straight that there was never any danger of the ship it was just some rain that got in and in fact the egg drop contest never even stopped during these hurricane for that all continued and that was all and the the winds lasted about 40

Minutes and then everything calmed back down yeah exactly so so we just want to say this is a perfect ship and a great crew and we never ever felt um any danger or anything on the ship they’re a wonderful group of people so well our next day was um another a couple other

SE days Y and we did um on the third SE the second SE day was very relaxing but on the third SE day we did went to isumi for lunch and we had a Saki and Sushi pairing and that was a lot of fun yeah I

Really enjoyed that a lot so they uh um as Nancy said they would do a it was kind of like the chef’s table we showed you in a previous video but a Japanese version so they would would do a saki they would talk about that type of Saki

And then they’d bring us an appetizer or the next course or the next course um and it was all very good it was fun you know again spending time with friends compai compai the crew did a great job their saki master came out and talked their

Their all the chefs came out and talked they made a saki cocktail and and they did it in front of us so they showed us all the little steps to put it together which was absolutely delicious M yeah you like that one and I think you had

That at the last time we were atumi too gisha girl cockail and I’m sure you’ll be having another one of they gave us the recipe so that was that was cool yeah so that made that made for a nice Cay doing that for lunch and then after

That the next uh or that evening what was the it was well first it was Lobster night in the main dining room so I I was in heaven because I was I love Seafood love Seafood love sushi so it it was like the perfect uh day of meal for me

It was but then uh we had a headline show that was Andrew Kennedy a comedian he he was a lot of fun good time he’s he’s going to be on again later too so you’ll probably see a couple videos of him in the future and uh and then we got

Some rest because the next day was uh was actually pulling into mono yeah now montoo this was that as as we had mentioned previously um this was the first Royal Escape so this was this extra included Excursion for full world Cruisers that Royal Caribbean decided to include and for the America’s Cruise the

One lasting until Los Angeles this was our Royal escape and it was called wine down in Mont Vio and uh so we all um Royal Caribbean put this together what we did is we got off the ship in the morning we boarded uh buses and they

Took us for a tour around the city we didn’t know what to expect no we really we had very little information other than we knew we were going to go to an Uruguayan Winery and a new wine taste that’s really all we knew y but they

Took us on a full tour of the city that was cool we we learned a lot and you’re white is or at least Mont Vio is certainly a really nice place it really is We enjoyed seeing the city a lot and then we drove way out into the country to the winery beautiful

Countryside that’s right and uh um so we went into the winery the bus has stopped we got out and they had um uh sparkling wine for everyone um and then we had that we uh were broken up into groups and they took us on a walking tour of the winery

And then we went into their main hall um where they had some kind of Tapas they had kind of a shakery plate in front of each of us right but their their main hall was very it was like a really old but but well done up kind of a barn it

Was so Charming yeah and then while we were having the toas they brought out different wines that they make and they poured us each glasses of them and then and then started the show and they had a a big um Uruguayan show of all kinds of different acts and everything it went on

For an hour hour and a half I mean all the time we were having these snacks that they had for us to eat and they had the wine right drummers and tango dancers and and Carnival type type uh acts and all but this Winery was very unique because they also made Cognac and

I’ll let you explain how they they get to call it they they did get they and they actually got to call their sparkling wine champagne as well so Uruguay helped France during war War II and as a thank you France actually let this particular Winery um call their

Products conac which they made a brandy using the same wines as in the conac region in France and using the same grapes as in the Champagne region of France they then licensed to them for 75 years to allow them to actually call their products Cognac and champagne and

For those of you that kind of know French wines and things that France is very particular you cannot call you know a sparkling wine champagne unless it comes from the Champagne region of France same with conac you can call it brandy or something else well their

Lease just ran out um a couple years ago and they have a few bottles of the conac left um I actually tried it and I couldn’t resist I I bought a bottle of the conac and uh yeah there and honestly all of their wines we had were very good

In fact you had one Ros that you really enjoyed and we bought one and brought it back to the ship with us so we’ll be having that with some friends a little bit later we’re going to have a we’re actually several of our friends went to different

Wineries so we all bought bottles of wine from those Wineries and um you really liked one of their red wi yes I did yep and so we’re going to um share those amongst our group and have a little wine tasting back on the ship here um some of you may be wondering

Well how did we get this bottle of wine on the ship being on a cruise ship we didn’t do anything wrong because we’re full world Cruisers Royal Caribbean has allowed us to bring wine back on the ship with us they know we’re going to mini wineries different wine regions and

So they’re like yeah if you know for you guys if you want to bring wine back we can and so you know we brought back um five bottles of wine with us from this particular Winery we had other friends that brought I think eight bottles back

With them so um we’re we’re going to be sharing that with our friends later well just um as a side note here they Royal actually took they divided all of us up because there were so many of us to three different wineries so our friends got to go to other wineries so that’s

Why we’re going to have a nice wine tasting here on the ship because they brought back different wines from from their Winery exactly so and that also didn’t overcrowd each Winery and then everyone got to try different ones so so that was um the winery after we um

Finished up there we got back on the bus and then we got more of a city tour which we went went actually downtown to the main square of Mont Vio and our guide kind of showed us around and then we got off the bus walked around the main Town Square for a little

While and enjoyed that and then we headed back to the ship so Upon returning to the ship we had dinner we went to see one of the shows in the main theater and then we were going to call it a night rather early because we have

A very anticipated uh day coming up the very next day that’s right so here’s why you want to reach down and uh make sure you hit that subscribe button and turn on your notifications cuz our next video we’re going to go to one of the most absolutely beautiful places in the world

It’s one of our most anticipated stops in this entire world Cruise Iguazu Falls in Argentina and Brazil so we’re actually going to spend two days there and we needed to get some rest because we’ve got to get up and at like you know 6:00 in the morning and catch a flight

And we’re actually spending overnight off the ship there so be sure to check that out and and if you hit those notifications you’ll be sure to see that the moment we release that video we do appreciate that so thanks for watching friends we appreciate you being here have a beautiful day byebye now Byebye

  1. Hi Mike & Nancy 🤗 I’m absolutely loving these videos and I find myself looking forward to your next installment. Thank you for sharing your adventures so that I can live vicariously through you until I get on a ship 🛳

  2. I gave up a couple of the other YouTube people talking about the cruise. They honestly are sensationalizing everything. Love your videos ❤

  3. And the "Crown and Anchor" club must be what the tik tok comments were about. As a newbie, they would not get the 4 bonus trips. Royals loyalty program.

  4. The food and wine looked tasty, are any of the white sparkling wines sweet or are they all dry? I’m always on the lookout for a sweet sparkling white wine like Moscato 🤤. Great to see you get off the ship for an overnight stay somewhere, a break in the program keeps things interesting. I wish cruise companies would use their newer ships for these long cruises but I guess that would just put the cost of the cruise up. Looking forward to seeing the falls 👍

  5. Loving all your positive, drama-free videos. You’re highlighting the great parts of your trip without ignoring the others. Makes me like we’re all there with you

  6. I so look forward to these vids! Your the best on this cruise for sure! LOL i use to do egg drops when i was teaching………the principal did roof duty!

  7. Good morning my dears, thank you for clarifying the "drama" onboard that others make it seem like impending doom. That's what I love about seasoned travelers, cool, calm and collected.👍👏👏👏🤩I'm on my way to work while I watch this lovely vlog. Love the dancers "where are you two dancing?😉and the food, wine so intoxicating.👏😺Love your commentary as always and now at work I will imagine being at one of these beautiful wineries and toasting a nice glass of wine with you two wonderful folks!👏👏👏👏Stay safe and big hugs.🫂❤️

  8. I really enjoy your vlogs. Your vlogs informative and very I interesting. I was wondering how many people on the ship qualify for the wonders and special tours? 1000s? Thank you.

  9. It truly looks like you are having the times of your lives! We couldn't make this cruise but I certainly hope Royal will consider doing another at some point in the near future.

  10. Thanks for clearing up the incident of the actual “flood” – so much silliness online about this cruise – I always wait for your review to hear the truth. Thanks again!

  11. I am thoroughly enjoying your vlogs! Yours is the only one I am following on this world cruise. I appreciate your candor and the way you share your day-to-day adventures. Thank you for sharing.

  12. I love how a) you are not about the drama and b) You correct the drama that is out there. Thank you so much! Must admit, you're my favourite channel for this cruise! So informative and upbeat. Hope you continue having a wonderful time. <3

  13. Unfortunately, those sensational headlines are money-makers for advertisers, sponsors, and the vloggers creating them, but I'd rather spend my time listening to quality/honest information. Thanks for keeping it real. Looking forward to the falls.

  14. Thank you for your undramatic version of this "flood" that happened. Other accounts made it seem like the ship was in great peril.

It's nice to see what it's really like from real cruisers and not these "influencers" that are onboard. In fact, heart this morning I saw a post on Facebook that said someone on the world cruise said something to the waiters and they all gasped, and there was one word that people onboard were banned from saying. 🙄

  15. Such great concise content. Really enjoying your vlogs. Thank you for sharing. Hope you’ll end up with enough subscribers to get monetized. Maybe it’ll help offset the price of the cruise 😂

  16. Came across you guys completely by accident. Loving this. I've nevee been in a cruise, bit sure if its for me, but enjoying it vicariously through you. Checked out a cpl of your fellow sailors, but your accounts seem really honest. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. Happy sailing from a landlubber in England x

  17. I have unsubscribed to cruise hive for them catering to these bogus rants. Thank you for confirming Tic tock isn’t worth my time.

  18. What a lovely story about France acknowledging the help they received during the war, so interesting. I’m excited for your next video. Thank you 😊

  19. TikTok folks love making drama. I don't believe anything they post. How exciting to see Montevideo! I don't hear of too many tours to Uruguay

  20. Hi! Avid cruisers here who love watching your take on this incredible experience! Curious as to how Royal Caribbean is handling 9-month guests bringing back alcohol to the ship and allowing you to consume while still sailing? We love your videos, keep it up! 😊🛳️

  21. You two are the best reviewers of this world cruise. So educated. Thank you for sharing.

  22. Thank you for sharing, sounds like an amazing trip! Love all the "drama" that the internet is making!! I am retiring this year from teaching and have booked a 56-day cruise from Sydney to London in June 2025 and I would love to hear your advice on getting ready for a longer voyage and how to make the most out of the adventure.

  23. Just goes to show you that some people will go out of their way to find drama and make mountains out of molehills while folks like you see all the joys in life around you. Such a pleasure watching your videos and seeing places I'd like to visit and things I'd like to do there.

  24. I am loving all of your videos and sing parts of the world that I will probably never see in my lifetime thank you so much for sharing

  25. Oh my god! I was searching for a YouTuber that would hopefully post his journey on the Ultimate World Cruise on YouTube and here you are, being the only one so far doing it! I'm proud of you!
