Indicazione geografica tipica (I.G.T.) is the 3rd of 4 classification levels in the Italian wine classification system, below the DOCG (Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco) and DOC (Prosecco), all recognized by the government of Italy. The equivalenet to what is called elsewhere in Europe IGP wines (Protected Geographical Indication of Origin) or what are in France the Vin de Pays wines.
