  1. Townsends covers so much founding-fathers-era recipes, I almost feel like it's hardly worth delving further.

  2. You should cover Alexander Hamilton and have Lin Manuel Miranda as a special guest. He could write a song about whatever Hamilton liked to eat!

  3. It might just me be, but you seemed a little off today. I’m probably wrong and you won’t see this but everything will be ok and just keep going ❤️

  4. Thomas Jefferson of course! A noted gourmand and admirer of French cuisine. A story tying together Washington and his cook, Hercules, would be great as well!

  5. Oh, consider cream cheese with the anchovies, or do sardines. The crea, cheese covers up then salt and fish flavor. lol😅

  6. This would be good with txakoli, which is a really nice wine from the Basque country. It's often served with little bites of anchovies, olives, and cured meats and cheeses (called pintxos).

Also, please include Abigail Adams's pan dowdy, which is in the National Archives. The woman was a queen, and deserved a bigger role in 1776.

  7. Because Im a sadist, Im requesting you do an episode on Founding Father and 4th President James Madison, whos favorite food was his wifes recipe for Oyster Ice Cream.

  8. I, also, would not like this as I am not a fan of anchovies unless they are liberally doused in a ceasar dressing. Fry up the bread and toast some parmesan on it and I'd be happy though.

  9. I always soak my canned anchovies in milk (or water) for about half an hour then rinse them before cooking them. It leeches out much of the salt and mutes the fishy flavor giving them the right amount of umami.

I think anchovies would be a more popular pizza topping if they were properly prepared.

  10. I'd love the Thomas Tyron video. I'm a vegetarian myself, and I know vegetarianism really wasn't a huge thing in the past in most of the world, at least purposely, so I'd love to learn more about it.

  11. I would like to see if Thomas Paine had any culinary peculiarities. My wife also suggests Abigail Adams.

  12. the saville almost sounds like a grapefruit by your description that sounds interesting to me at least.

  13. I have always been curious as to what Alexander Hamilton ate, but I'm also curious to see how you would do with doing a series on all of the presidents. I'm not exactly sure how you would do it in terms of the meals, but I'm sure you could find something interesting to discuss, such as the for mentioned macaroni and cheese from Thomas Jefferson.
