Since your bed doesn’t have a headboard, it might be better to have that portion of the bed against a wall. Also, the second configuration allows you enough room to have side tables, while the first does not provide nearly as much room. Neither gives you great space to maneuver around the bed (it may actually be a tad too big for the size of the room), but the second gives you more options.
