**Nose:** Aromas of melon, cantaloupe, lemongrass, and an almost sugar cane/rock candy-esque quality (not to be confused for residual sugar), there are beautiful citrus notes at play here, though the intensity of it isn’t super deep.
**Palate:** The palate aligns with the aromatics with notes of melon, lime pith, white grapefruit, with what was upon early pop and pour, a short, bitterish finish that was out of tune with the rest of the wine. Light bodied and zippy, the acidity was more firm, and crunchy (medium acid), with the minerality coming through with a “punchy” quality. Over the course of a few hours, the bitterness did ease its aggressiveness, yet the wine never really resonated with me deeply, mainly off the back of the disjointed finish.
**Additional Thoughts:** While we were sharing notes with one another, my girlfriend mentioned the wine having notes of pineapple (very spot on quite frankly, definitely that dried out/preserved type of pineapple), green apple, and a hay/wheat type of quality. Wanted to separate her notes just because she is far less familiar with wine than I am, but is slowly building up her palate.
Back to the wine, it was “fine”, unfortunately nothing too memorable for me, and got far outclassed by the red wine that followed it that evening. We had some empanadas, rice, beans, pernil, and sweet plantains to pair with the wines that night.
