Don’t reddit roast me for the mess but I’m at a loss for what to do with this area here. The window is too low for any table to fit cleanly, I know I need some sort of shoe storage but nothing I can think of feels quite right, and the AC gets in the way of a lot of things as well. Let me know your thoughts!

Put a bench under the window with cushions and pillows to creat a comfy window seat.

Short/small bench with storage on either side of the AC, or alternatively a hall tree to the left of the front door (if there’s a wall for it to go along). Even some of those low shoe shelves would help here.

Depending on seating You could add a chair angled on the right side and a shoe cubby/ bench for the left I would look on Amazon for ideas or IKEA both ship.

You *could* build a bench over the AC (but might cause condensation on the underside of the bench surface if it was too close to the vents)…wouldn’t really be practical seating over AC except in non-AC-requiring months of the year

So I would go for two separate small low units either side of the AC, just deep enough for the shoes and boots, for a place to put plants and lamp(s) atop. Maybe with a bookshelf up the sofa wall at right). If done in a natural wood finish that would also warm up the window area.
