This is a can of tripe stew I brought back from France last year. I have been looking forward to opening this!

2:40 I've noticed that Heinz, especially beans, really really really do not like being opened via can opener. I have no problem with shop brand beans, tuna cans and almost all over tinned products, but Heinz just really doesn't like being can opened, it always refuses to cut in 2 or 3 spots.
There's a restaurant in a small village in Poland call Piaski that has a restaurant called Rarytas they have
been serving the best tripe soup for the last 50 years I have eaten tripe soup all over the world and this restaurant just makes it the best since 1959 you can go there today an order of a bowl in the taste the same as it did many years ago
What you ought to try if only once is lift the pull tab a little, use the can opener the whole way 'round and then use the pull tab as a handle to pluck the can top out of the can in the case it falls in. I just thought of this, so I will be trying it next time I find a pull-tab can.
Menudo?
I don't have any particular problem with it being stomach, but I think that I would not like the texture. Probably part of it is that I would remember eating octopus in Mexico, – it was like eating chewy macaroni with itty, bitty suckers. It tasted fine, but I didn't feel well that evening – not really sick, but just somewhat unwell. So, the chewy part would be off-putting to me (and also, I don't really have much of an adventurous stomach🤷😅)
Been subscribed to this channel since 2019 and I’m only just learning Michael speaks FRENCH??!!!
3:34 Rickrolling on an actual thumbnail! Low blow. 🤣
Did we just get Rick rolled by means of thumbnail….on Rick Astleys birthday???
I used to serve customers tripe in Sainsburys in the 70s, all wet and wobbly, yuk.
In Mexico it considered a hangover cure.
yeah, no. no, yeah no.
One thing I think would be useful that I’ve not seen you do. Before opening with the can opener, bend the pull tab up to make it easier to retrieve the lid without having to fish around for the edge.
I wonder what other products Paul and Louise do.
You gotta be starved to death to willingly eat this in a non scientific way
There are 4 types of tripe, because ruminants have 4 stomachs!
Tripe was a common meal when I was a child.
Never had it served in tomato sauce, sounds good.
Can you purchase the canned tripe in the UK?
Interesting video ⛄️☕️🇦🇺
your French is pretty good bud!
Not converted me to tripe yet.
I have said it before and i will repeat myselve.
I want you to make tripe stew from scratch at home in your pressure cooker!
I love your thumb, btw…❤❤❤❤
It's like Mexican menudo.
As you were opening the can this time, I just had a thought: would it be feasible, and useful, to try popping up the pull tab *slightly*, not to open the can with, but serve as a handle for lifting the lid out of the can without needing to press it to tip one side up and risk lifting some sauce out (for sauces that are less gelatinous than in this case) and spilling it? No idea if this would be valuable, or if it'd been suggested before, but it occurred to me and I figured it's worth mentioning just in case it's a technique with more than zero utility.
1:20 I can't comment on the accuracy of the translation as i don't speak french but it's nice to see how much care you put into it. it's also impressive how well you are able to read the ingredients as i would be clueless.
No gripe with tripe!
Hello shrimp, I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I recommend you try Romanian tripe soup. It's a soup made with sour cream, typically enjoyed alongside pickled hot peppers. The canned version doesn't compare at all to the delicious home cooked one, but it would still be interesting if you tried it. Thank you for the great calming content!
Tried Turkish tripe soup, have you?
i'm beginning to feel a certain desire to start using my can opener on pull tab cans, too
Is it chewy like the edge of some steaks? I've never noticed bacon rind to be be chewy, but I might just have never had bacon rind😅
Ofcourse Tripe and Onions was a staple dish for the working classes in past decades, as was Liver. Offal seems to have gone out of favour with the young. I'd love to see you buy Tripe from the butchers and cook it yourself, I think most folk have no clue how to cook it into something tasty.
My dad loved tripe and onions all fried together. Nobody ever joined him with it.
et in French means and
Please do try the Asian kinds of tripe. It's just so good.
My Grandmother used to make the best Tripe and Onions for me when I visited her sometimes in my school lunch break. I've never understood the British revulsion to animal offal, it was an essential commodity during wartime and most other countries make use of the whole animal even now. I guess we Brits are just too spoilt and narrow minded with our convenient shrink wrapped luxury cuts of meat.
The ironic and funny thing is, most of us still eat it when we buy food that contains mechanically recovered meat like kebabs, and most cheaper sausages contain ears, noses, lips and foreskins.🤣
I like tripe. I pickle mine after boiling it for about an hour or until it's good enough to eat. Never had it any other way but I am willing to try it with tomato based sauce. My dogs love it so much but they only get a few bits as treat.😊
Thanks. We have the same cutlery
eva's paw giving is so dainty and ladylike 😭i adore her
Tripe sounds like a heavy dish but actually isn't. I prepare it similarly but Tuscan way with basil and parmigiano. And a loaf of bread to wipe my plate.
I'll be honest. I've had a pretty grim week and all it took to make me laugh was the lil rick roll………
I wonder if I might enjoy tripe, were it to be ground or blended or something as I am quite sensitive to certain textures much more than most
I remember the smell when my dad used to cook tripe for his dogs 🤢
The Brains was a great "stuff"
At least, now, I dont need to try it!!
Thanks for taking "one for the team" on that one Mike!!
More brains please!!
Not necessarily the "Low-Cal" Lammy variant!! Very Cheap but virtually non existant.
Apologies for bringing horrid politics in!! Wont do it again!! Promise!
👍👍
Green nail colour. Why??
