A magnum of Royal Seyssel, a sparkling wine from the French Alps, paired with a homemade focaccia barese, and good friends in the garden… do we really need anything else in life? 🌞🥂

This sparkling gem from Savoie, in the French Alps, is one of France’s best-kept secrets. Made from the rare Molette and Altesse grapes, Seyssel was actually the second sparkling wine AOC in France (just after Champagne in 1936!) — talk about elegant company. 😏

Crafted in the traditional method, aged on the lees for that subtle creamy texture, it offers aromas of white flowers, honey, hazelnut, and a breath of alpine air. Imagine mountain freshness… but in your glass. ⛰️✨

With my focaccia barese — fluffy, olive-oil-rich, and topped with cherry tomatoes and oregano — the pairing was divine! The wine’s lively bubbles and delicate acidity cut through the richness and brought out the sweetness of the tomatoes. 💃

If you love elegant sparkling wines that aren’t too sweet, too famous, or too obvious, you’ll fall for Royal Seyssel. It’s refined, fresh, and slightly rebellious — just how we like it. 😉
