Hey TDF Fans! Yes the Tour has truly now really begun!!! The first real Mountain stage as we kick off 4 days of climbing. Stage 12 is 180 km long with 3850m climbing in the Pyrenees of France. Generally flat to rolling riders for the first 2/3rd’s of the route the back end is loaded with climbing. The peloton takes on the Category 1 Col du Soulor, Cat 2 Col du Borderes and the finally the legendary assault up the HC Hautacam. This is definitely Bang Bang time riders. Prepare for mayhem in the general classification. There are also valuable King of the Mountain points available today, expect teams to be out on the attack to get these points towards the polka dot jersey.

🏁 Tour de France 2025 – Stage 11 Preview**
📍 *Toulouse → Toulouse*
📅 *Wednesday, July 16, 2025*
📏 *156.8 km | 1,750 m elevation gain*

🔍 Route Overview**
A flat-ish loop with some sting in the tail. Three short climbs in the second half could break up the field:
* Côte de Castelnau-d’Estrétefonds (1.4 km @ 6%)
* Côte de Vieille‑Toulouse (1.3 km @ 6.8%)
* Côte de Pech David (0.8 km @ 12.4%) — *cresting just 8.8 km from the finish!*

Finale: flat but technical, ending on Boulevard Lascrosses in Toulouse.

⚔️ Key Tactical Points**
* Last sprinter-friendly stage before the Pyrenees.
* Pech David climb could eliminate pure sprinters.
* Potential for breakaway success if the peloton plays it safe.
* Crosswinds and tight corners may create chaos.

🏆 Riders to Watch**
**Sprinters:**
* Jonathan Milan (Lidl–Trek) – Green jersey leader
* Tim Merlier (Soudal–QuickStep) – Multiple stage wins

Punchers / Opportunists:**
* Wout van Aert
* Mathieu van der Poel
* Jasper Philipsen
* Mads Pedersen

**Breakaway hopefuls:**
* Oier Lazkano
* Stefan Küng
* Matej Mohorič

🎯 What to Watch Out For:
✅ Pech David – decisive climb
✅ Green jersey battle – Milan vs Merlier
✅ Technical finale – positioning is everything
✅ Will a breakaway survive?

**📣 Let me know in the comments: Will a sprinter survive the Pech David climb? Or will a breakaway take the glory in Toulouse?**

  1. Thank you, sir, for the shoutout on your channel, but not needed, I was a bit surprised by the participation I must admit though. I only suggest my thoughts for polls; you are the man with the vision and knowledge to run your YT channel. My suggestions are just that, feel free to ignore them or change the questions and responses up or whatever you want to do with them (loved your addition of “pesky” to the mountain climber). If I have an idea I am happy to share, but no hard feelings on my part whatsoever if you choose not to use or to change any part of them. God Bless you and your loved ones and please keep up the wonderful coverage.

    You received 200 likes and over 1,000 votes on a poll, your numbers will keep growing thru the tour I believe, much like Pogis' lead I think.

    If I was to suggest another it would be like a poll to wonder what type of stage your viewers look forward to.

    Favorite stage type to watch of TDF race:

    a) Individual time-trial stage

    b) Mountain stages

    c) Sprinter stages

    d) Breakaway wins

    Might be a bit interesting poll with what tomorrows time-trial route looks like.

  2. Thanks GRC for the fantastic watch party for this Stage 12 of the Tour de France. Visma started strong, with all their star players in front. Once they approached the base of the Hautacam, UAE gathered up and as they decided which riders had the best legs. Narvaez and Tadej launched ahead while the other guys stayed back to save their legs for another day. Oscar Onley looked like he was going to throw up in his post stage interview, after pushing past his limit up the Hautacam.
