NYC is regarded as many, including yours truly, as a food mecca. Pretty much any cuisine can be found here and French food is no exception! There’s tons of French restaurants in NYC, such as French taverns, French bistros, and French brasseries, so it really is news if there is a new French restaurant making waves! In this case, it’s Grand Brasserie in Grand Central, which is a huge French restaurant inside Grand Central station!

It’s definitely neat to review a huge restaurant! But to me what’s most important is if the food tastes good, not so much if the atmosphere is pretty and charming. With that in mind, we try the Grand Brasserie menu, items such as French onion soup, steak frites, a gruyere omelette, and a lemon tart. The Grand Brasserie lunch special is pretty generous, but we even added an extra item for the sake of the video.

I haven’t seen many Grand Brasserie reviews yet, so this may be the first one! While there are many great restaurants in Grand Central, a huge French restaurant is definitely a welcome addition and I’m all for it if the food is up to scratch!

  1. Baseballcap in a restaurant…in germany or france or italy you will be kicked out 😀 …..but i love you ua 😉

  2. The omlet didn't look very classic. It looked more like they were using an egg premix. They are supposed to be a bit liquid inside though the heat of the more cooked part will set that up a bit when they are folded right.

  3. That's seems like a very good deal. Was the bread stale? Was it tough and rubbery? That's bad. The omelette consistency looks correct. It should be "creamy" but not "watery".

  4. that really looked awesome to me i think they did a great job with being authentically french from the bread to the omlete. That steak looked perfectly cooked to me personally, I would prefer them to under season because I don't really like too much salt so you can always add more salt but you can't take it away. This is a definite must try for me when I'm in New York. I feel like the food looked even better than the food I had in Paris. It was more like the food. I was hoping to have in Paris.

  5. Pain de campagne, it's meant to be that way. No fluff ie. Good to extend your culinary pallet and you really need a bit of OS to broaden out your love of food.

  6. Entrecote is known as sirloin that is the opposite side of the backbone to the fillet. Think north 1/3 of the NY Strip,

  7. YA SHUDD-DA MAYBE TRIED DUNK'IN THAT INEDIBLE BREAD IN THE ONION SOUP?? FRIES DONE MAYBE IN DUCK FAT??

  8. Gotta love people who make a living going around reviewing food when they don't know wtf they're even talking about. And take your hat off in a decent restaurant…

  9. don't forget to cut your skirt steak against the grain! (though it looked tender enough that it maybe didn't matter)

  10. Hey UA the best things I liked was the French Onion Soup and lemon dessert too. The skirt steak looked like a piece of jerky, fries looked ok. Not a fan of that omelette. Bread looked as hard as rock. What marks out of 10 would I give it ? 7/10

  11. To be honest, I don't think you like French omelettes, period. A classic French omelette is a culinary ballet of eggs, softly curdled and then folded into a silky, almost creamy texture. The inside of a French omelette is tender and slightly custardy, with just a hint of creaminess. Simplicity and precision are its hallmarks, often finished with a whisper of fresh herbs. Maybe order a country omelette next time at another restaurant. It's all about what makes your taste buds happy. Bon appétit! 🥚

  12. Maybe you can do a horizon shot of the restaurant from your seat at the table, to give us a perspective of the interior.

  13. French bread is so overrated. Normally I would buy it fo breakfast and could use it as a baseball bat by the time I got home.😅

  14. i'm of Asian ancestry but no shellfish please, and can i get the 3 course meal, and can i get a steak with that, she almost falls down at this point…

  15. thats what they called pain tradition which is the best bread
you will get used to it and when you do you cannot go back
