  1. Thanks for more classic memories of Grandma's favorite food
that she liked to serve you thank you.😋🍲🍛🧆🍝😋

  2. None of my grandmother's or my mother were great cooks. Maternal grandmother overcooked everything, my paternal grandmother put tons of sugar in every dish. My mother despised cooking. But I love all kinds of foods, especially those I never had as a child.

  3. Pinto beans are familiar. My mother would eat nothing green. No bread pudding ever, not interested . Grandma cooked with homegrown veg and commodities. Nothing will grow in a garden here anymore. Meatloaf is still my favorite sandwich, but we never had meatloaf with a potato topping, that is also English. She did make amazing biscuits, and was a cook for many years at a local airbase during war times. NO meat in gravy ever for us. The whole point of biscuits and gravy was filling tummies with nothing in it. Pot roast was maybe once a year if you were lucky. Mostly at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We lived, but it was very rare to get meat. She used only pepper, macaroni, canned tomato paste, and it was gross. Sorry mother, you were an awful cook. Grandma could make meals out of ANYTHING.

  4. Slaves didn't bring seeds for planting in tge New Workd. Please believe the slaves didn't bring seeds to stsrt a new life or carry a comfort food during hard days working the in the fiekds.b

  5. THEM HEIRLOOM TOMATERS MIGHT NOT MAKE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE SEASON… WE DO LOVE OUR FRIED GREEN TOMATERS!!!
