From the Paso Robles, California wine region, J. Lohr Hilltop 2018 is a fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon-driven red wine blend with 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec splashed in. The wine was matured 18 months in French oak barriques (70% new). Look for ripe blueberry, cherry and dark plum aromas on the nose, full-bodied and smooth on the palate with ripe dark berry, cherry, mocha, dark spices, smoky and toasty on the palate. This vintage was awarded Gold at the 2020 San Francisco International Wine Competition. We would give this wine a 3.9-4.0/5 on Vivino rating. Very sumptuous and a delight to drink as these Hilltop wines have proven to be.
