Sure. LA is filled with pop-ups and trendy restaurants, but a trip to Los Angeles isn’t complete with a stop downtown to Philippe The Original.

Philippe, (also sometimes known as Philippe’s), is the innovator of French Dip Sandwich. It’s also dang good. It might not appear on “best of” or “top ten” list, but when it comes to SoCal eating you can’t get a more true LA dining experience.

But Philippe isn’t the only restaurant in Southern California to claim to have invented the French Dip sandwich. In fact there’s a little bit of an old rivalry between them and LA’s oldest restaurant: Cole’s. To read move about the rivalry check out this article:
