Have you ever tasted an Icon Wine from Chile?

Today we are tasting one of the greatest wines from Chile the place, which already has a high standard, when it comes to winemaking.

The wine I’m sharing with you today is a 2019 Escudo Rojo Baronesa P. by Vina Baron Philippe de Rothschild from Chile. Baron Philippe de Rothschild is a family business with 160 years of experience. It is one of the best known wine producers in the world. The winery is located 45 kilometers south of Santiago in the incomparable Maipo Valley.

The Maipo Valley is famous for Cabernet Sauvignon, just like the Medoc, where Baron Philippe de Rothschild has its winegrowing roots.

This red wine is truly a tribute to Rothschild itself. Created as a honor to the beloved Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, this wine combines five fabulous grape varieties: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by 6% Carmenère, 5% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot and 5% Syrah, which spent 15 month in French oak.

Tasting Notes:
Just close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the magic of the moment.
In the glass, the wine is a deep, purple-hued ruby-red.
This compelling Bordeaux style blend is full-bodied and opulent, reveals both remarkable balance and finesse.

A delicate balance combined with natural freshness ignites aromatics in which the fruits harmonize elegantly with more spicy notes and a hint of toffee.
And on the palate, the wine reveals all its complexity with superbly well-structured, velvety tannins.
Wonderfully layered and deep with great length.

For me Baronesa P. is one of the most exciting new wines out of Chile.
