We continue to level up the look at Grenache with another truly great GSM wine from Chateauneuf du Pape. According to the Wine Spectator it is too early to open these special wines from the 2010 vintage in Chateauneuf du Pape. However, I continue to bypass their advice to see where this wine is at after 10 years.
Chateauneuf du Pape is a well known region in the Southern Rhone Valley of France. The wines here are GSM blends with Grenache as the lead grape with Mourvedre and Syrah providing support. Upon further review, this is a GMS wine!
The wine tasted in this episode is 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre. A powerful blend.
