Tasheli is a small family-run business located in the province of Mersin, in southern Turkey. They produce some truly remarkable wines.
The wine you see in this photograph is a dry red wine made from a grape variety called Patkara. Patkara is a unique grape variety native to the region. This wine has won an award from the AWC Vienna, as you can see in the photograph.
I enjoy trying boutique wine brands from the country I live in.
It has a lively acidity and medium tannins on the palate, and its robust, spicy body pairs well with cheese, red meat and pasta with sauce. I really enjoyed it.
Next time, I’ll try their wine made from a blend of Patkara and Shiraz.
