Hello! I am decorating the playroom which is for my small children. We have a colorful rug which I love. One wall, not pictured, is an art wall for all their artwork. It’s colorful and cluttered and will stay. I want to simplify the other wall with colorful, large, happy, and bright art. I found this abstract canvas piece that is large and the kids surprisingly complemented and like, so it will be hung here. I think I need another companion art of similar size and shape to hang next to it. Not a bunch of small things since the other wall is more small and chaotic. But I have NO idea what type of art that will complement it! Another abstract wild art would be too much. Maybe a monochromatic abstract one? No idea. I’ve been looking for days and can’t decide. New to home decorating and would love advice thank you!

A couple of options:
Buy a couple of cheap canvases and have your kids paint over them using similar colours. The rest of their art can go on the other wall.
Put this one up in the middle of the wall and then wait for the right piece to make itself known to you. With art, you often know it when you see it. One canvas on the wall will be fine for a while until you find the right piece.
Take one or two of the pictures from the gallery wall you already have up and use them as the second (and third) canvases (if using two, make sure the frame size is the same). The colours match your chosen art well, so that’ll cut down on the visual chaos.
