We spent 7 days in Bordeaux, France, after taking the bus from Bilbao, Spain and crossing the border into France. In this Bordeaux travel vlog, I’m sharing what we actually did in the city, from walking Rue Sainte-Catherine and trying canelés to visiting the Bordeaux Cathedral, Cité du Vin wine museum, Bassins des Lumières, Place de la Bourse, Porte Cailhau, La Grosse Cloche, Darwin Eco-système, and more.
This was not a nonstop sightseeing trip. The weather in Bordeaux was rainy and grey for part of our stay, and as full-time travelers, we still had to rest, work, finish projects, and live real life between exploring. That is the part of full-time travel people do not always see. Some days are beautiful historic streets and wine tastings. Some days are staying inside, catching up on life, and waiting for better weather.
Bordeaux is known for wine, but the city also has beautiful architecture, great food, historic landmarks, riverside walks, shopping streets, immersive museums, and some really good treats like canelés and rich hot chocolate. I also visited Cité du Vin by myself, which ended up being one of my favorite Bordeaux experiences, and we tried the famous steak and fries at L’Entrecôte.
