Bonjour and welcome back,

In today’s video I am transforming antique French linen with soft spring colours, sharing a few recent brocante finds, and setting a relaxed countryside dinner table at home.

A simple guide to dyeing linen:
– Wash linen beforehand (clean + slightly damp)
– Premix dye with water
– Pour into drum + add salt
– Add linen without overloading
– Run a warm cycle (around 40°C / 104°F)
– Start with light tones, then build deeper shades

Thank you for being here,
Audrey

  1. Lovely home. I so enjoy your videos. You have such a great eye for antiques and decorating with them. If I may ask, what is the age of your house?

  2. How lovely. Your chosen colors make a very beautiful table setting alongside the new silverware settings. How lucky is your family. Simply beautiful. TY, Audrey for sharing your tips on dying.

  4. I love your dyed linens. I keep thinking I’ll do that with some of mine, but it seems like so much work you make it look so effortless. As always a wonderful video thank you.🇨🇦

  5. Love the colors you picked to dye your linens; and your table setting was really beautiful. Wow another 18th century painting. Looking forward to seeing where it finds the perfect place in your home.

  6. As always a beautiful, informative and inspiring video. Calm again has descended on me and at the same time I’m excited to try to dye some napkins that I have iIn bulk …old linen ones.❤🇦🇺✅🎉

  7. I do like the painting there, I dont think its too small for the space, white space is good but if you need a bigger pic there above the fireplace just swap it out with the larger one on the left💖💖🌱🌱🪻🌷🌷

  8. Lovely colors and interesting tips. Please share your secret to getting all the wrinkles out when ironing!

I would hang your new painting over the mantle slightly to the right to fit in with the pieces below and slightly lower than you had it. I think the larger items around it would draw the eye to it, and you have space above if you have any future finds.

  9. Thank you for yet another gorgeous video. Your table is so joyful! I appreciate the dyeing tutorial. I like to over-dye clothing and textiles when they need a refresh, but I usually do it in a pot on the stove, and the dye does not always fix and can fade or bleed over time. Also, it is not a fun process to stir cloth in a pot over the stove for so long! I will try this washing machine method in the future.

  10. What a gorgeous painting you found, no matter where you finally choose to hang it , it is very special indeed. Love the table setting too–it elevates the meal:).

  11. I tell myself every time I watch, "in my next life, I will live in France in a small village with a beautiful house, and tour the brocantes, and collect beautiful linen and silver and glass and battered gilt frames, and glorious fabrics.".. Would also love to know what you ate with your friends at your beautiful table.

  14. "Color is a force that directly affects the soul." Wassily Kandinsky. This quote fits so well with the spring hues in this film. These salad cutlery little everyday creations. And the idea of dyeing linen is brilliant; I have a few mismatched linen items and I can already see them in new shades. Yellow Rose: A Quiet Beginning.💛 Thank you for the video. Spring greetings, Jola.
