The first pic is my bathroom. I had to rip some of the tile out to change the faucet so right now there is just dry wall by the faucet and I need to replace the tile.

I was thinking of ripping all the tile out that’s currently there and adding the green marble tile in the second pic. Ideally, I would like to bring it up to under the window trim. My mom said she thinks green is just a trendy color and it will make my resale value go down (we plan to move in 5-6 years). She thinks I should do a neutral color, which I get, but I also didn’t think this would be too crazy of a tile choice. Thoughts?

Green marble reads more classic than trendy because marble has been around forever – the green veining is showing up in high-end bathrooms, not just TikTok. In 5-6 years it will probably look more timeless than yet another all-white bathroom.

What actually hurts resale is poor tile work, cheap materials, or highly specific personal taste (like a mural). A well-executed marble tile isn’t any of those. Keep the format relatively simple (large format or classic subway rather than bold geometric) and choose the grout color carefully, and you’ll be fine.

Personally, it would increase the value

With the marble panels, definitely. Keep that focal point, it’s nice, but put small- to medium-sized white tiles around it.

I totally dig it, so tired of the grey and white bathrooms with no personalities

You plan to sell in 5-6 years. My advice is go for what makes you happy man. It isnt going to impact resale value THAT MUCH (if at all)! I think the marble is lovely and wont impact resale tbh, but even if it did so what? You’re there for 5 years still! Make it something you enjoy. Absolute worse case scenario you can always change it before selling, but I doubt it’ll impact the value tbh.

When I ask my husband to do this to our bathroom, I’m sending him your way and he’s gonna be pissed! This is gorgeous and if I walked into a house for sale with this bathroom and the rest of the house had the same vibe, the house would be sold instantly.
