  1. A European here. Back in the day, when there were only three TV channels… and creatures that size in the backyard. I’d be scared for my life if I’d had to go and fetch one. Admit it; that alone is why you needed your guns strapped to your hips 😂 A chicken at the size of a goose … holy Old MacDonald had a mutant animal farm!

  2. She reminds me so much of of my great aunt mannerisms and all❤miss her so much, she was one of the best cooks too. Taught me well❤

  3. Julia Child worked for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS)—the precursor to the CIA—during World War II. While not a field agent, she was a dedicated intelligence officer with top-secret clearance, handling sensitive communications in Ceylon and China and developing shark repellent for the Navy.

  4. Chicken doesn’t look that yellow anymore. Moreso a pale white and greyish pink color.

  5. Learned something new today, “caponette”…kind of gross 🤢…what I found online regarding a definition was that it’s a “chemically castrated” chicken. 😰😱🫣😣 poor chicken 😥😔 Thank you , Julia for educating me even after you’re gone! Ty PBS for being an infinite tool for learning❤❤ 🙏🏽

  6. And you thought chicken was chicken. How wonderful it would be to have a choice of chicken and the knowledge of what to do with them. Our lives are so much diminished by our endless quest for the "easy meal".

  7. This is my favorite introduction! 20 years ago I was gifted the series on DVD and only recently watched some of them. Not only do I learn a lot from them but they are hilarious.
