Built in 1860
Hidden in the French countryside, this castle stands on 22 acres of land, once filled with ambition, now left behind.
In 1996, a Swiss musician named Mr. Graf fulfilled his lifelong dream by buying this estate and moving here with his family. But he didn’t just want to live in a castle, he wanted to build something unique. His plan was to create a park with horses, offer carriage rides, and open a museum dedicated to historic carriages.
Traces of that vision are still visible today. Carriages remain stored in the barns, and parts of the estate feel frozen mid-project.
But restoring a castle like this comes at a cost. Over time, the scale became too much, and the dream slowly slipped away.
Join us as we explore this incredible place and uncover the story behind it.

There are literally hundreds of not thousands of these old abandoned Château’s all over France. They all are literal money pits and would take far too much money to restore because although beautiful the design’s are inefficient by today’s standards.
That and today’s French taxes are not kind to those who own places like these. It would be cheaper to come to the United States and build one brand new. The US is still living in the dark ages so unlike France you aren’t taxed for Universal Healthcare and free college for all citizens.
Those taxes in France did not exist at the current level back in the 1800’s.
There are Oligarch, billionaire tax loopholes in the US that allow you to pay literally ZERO if not get thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars BACK every year to afford and enjoy places like these.
People are dying by the thousands every day in the US due to not being able to afford the healthcare scam, live homeless in tents on the streets and on average are the dumbest in the world with the least amount of education. Look who the President is as an example. Look who the President’s administration consists of as yet another example. They steal from the poor and dying to line their pockets and rig the system to benefit the wealthy. They don’t earn awards and peace prizes they steal them or buy them outright and wear them like they’ve earned them. They’ve purchased all the media outlets to brainwash the average citizens like Russia does so that they stay in their places and not dare challenge the Fascist Authoritarians.
That makes it the #1 destination for those who owned these places in France to move to with their money.
And that is why there are so many abandoned places like this in France.
Thank you so much for this video and the sad story it tells. Just one request: The picture of the car you showed is indeed of a Rolls-Royce, but it's not a Phantom, it's a Silver Shadow I (built between 1965 and June 1977).
The dissolution of culture, pride, and family in front of our eyes. In what dignified society would people with a strong family leave behind their mansion and ancestral home? It always sounds like this is some kind of mystery. It's not! It's all by design. Increasing chaos and self-distortion ripple like earthquakes through all levels of human experience to turn us into what: some half-dumb, genderX, meaningless individual. And by replacing a deep, nourishing life with social media we follow who: those who worship money and power (S A T A N) over God, experimenting on us like dispensable cattle.
Did anybody contact you about purchasing the castle! Also; can someone please take the photo albums to the owner 😢
👍♥️
Dear, you don't know anything about history… you don't know anything about art… you don't know anything about music… You keep laughing like you're a comedian… The camera keeps rolling like you and we don't get to see anything well… Get out of the picture and have someone else speak… someone who knows… In simple words, you're irrelevant… and you're pretending to be the… expert…
I like to watching the Indonesian language 😂😂
Those leather items hanging up with carriages are called yokes and harnesses.
I recently read that hanging crosses and religious symbols and photos over beds was superstition to protect people while they slept. The additional symbols surrounded you with protection. Same is true of other rooms in house instilling protection from evil spirits.
Leslie, you find the most incredible abandoned places 😊 That really is such a sad story for this owner, still being alive and having to see this happening to his dream 😢
The horse equipment (to pull the carriages) are called harnesses.
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊
Too many ads
The outside belies the vastness of the interior. Fascinating video. Thanks guys!
I hope there is a millionaire or billionaire somewhere who will make contact and if not offer to buy the castle and have it restored, then to save the historic carriages, have them restored and arrange for their placement in museums. The green velvet settee suite is so lovely and it, along with many other pieces of furniture and fixtures, are so worth saving and restoring on their own even if the castle itself cannot be saved.
So sorry for this place and for so many other castles or manors who are in the same condition. But only a few can be saved.
France should have an organisation like in the UK: Brutish Heritage or the National Trust.
It’s not that bad at all definitely can be safed
He’s so cute.
Владельцу Этого Замка Не Стоило Тратиться На Приобретение Карет, А Скопить На Ремонт Сначала Крыши и Заодно Всего Дворца — Он Очень Красивый !!!!!!!!!
❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😮😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

What a shame that the castle is rotting away. It would take so much money to fix it. The land is gorgeous. Thanks for another great video Lesley and Luke.
Ok, Mr Graff got to purchase the castle and work on it as well. He got to live in for a while. Now, he is finished and so is the castle.
No one wants to save the castle. Too expensive.
Wouldn’t it be nice to attract the attention of a multi billionaire who might make repairs.
Call it haunted and rent it out. But still, the owner should try to sell it to a multi billionaire.
I wonder if there might be a title that might come with the castle?
The dinning room is quite nice.
Why do you sound like from submarine? Noise reduction?
It's 😢 that it can't be restored etc ….I try to picture the castles brand new and what it looked like in its hey day!
Are those Fleurs de lits on the wall paper? I have a suspicion that the castle is tied to French royalty.
As always a great find
I don’t think it so sad the demise of the castle. It’s life..See if you can sell it Lesley, for a finders fee 😊
Tres bien Lesley, merci! 😊
Don't forget to add in the burden of Property Taxes when considering yearly expenses on a restored Chateau!
Who is walking in the background at 7:50😮 They freaked me out. Thought it was a day walker😅
You have such a huge following why can’t you open a go fund me for Carl to help him restore his chateau or at least safe it from ruin? ❤
