Went to a new restaurant that just opened in my area called Salina. It’s an Italian restaurant in the San Fernando Valley (Porter Ranch) California. I often bring my own bottle of wine to nicer restaurants. There is usually a corkage fee of around $25 or so. This restaurant had an interesting way of charging a fee. You pick any glass from the menu for someone else in the restaurant. I thought it was a really cool idea. I had never seen that before so I told the waiter he could give the glass to whoever. Next time I think I will pick someone myself to gift the glass to.

Anyway I thought it was a great idea. Oh and the food was quite good and at least the pasta dishes were reasonably priced. Steaks are getting pricy these days. They also had a Screaming Eagle for $5k if anyone wants to go all out, and the wine list in general was okay, but not enough Italian selections.
