We went to the brand new Golden Palms in Bradford after seeing completely mixed opinions from two well known food reviewers. One loved it, one didn’t… so we had to go and see for ourselves.
Now this is important. Golden Palms is known as a buffet restaurant, but that’s not what we did today.
Instead, we got exclusive early access to their brand new lunch menu before it’s even launched to the public. So this is a proper first look at what they’re bringing outside of the buffet.
We went in like normal, ordered across the menu, and judged it on what actually matters, the food, the service, and whether it’s worth your money.
And yeah… we even ended up speaking to the owner while we were there.

We went into this completely blind… but after seeing two totally different reviews, we had to find out for ourselves 👀
No bias, no favours… just honest opinion.
Watch till the end and tell us… did we get it right?
Ohh ye snuck this one past me tonight lads, I had to check what day it was…🤔I watched Foodie Anz' video on this and he rated it highly, as he got a good service and great food. I left a long comment (as I do) regarding that. It was top notch that time. I watched TFT's one a few days ago and he didn't get a good impression. Besides the empty pots, which has been explained in your video, there were also issues with the chefs. You didn't get any of that. So it seems a bit hit and miss to be honest.
That said, what ye got seemed great. Large portions, reasonable prices as ye could share all the dishes. The steak looked amazing (I have mine well done) the sautéed spuds looked soooo good as did the dipping sauce. And yes, there's no question about the cleanliness, it's spotless. I think ye scored it correctly for what ye got. But, consistency is the most important thing, and I don't think they have that yet. Hopefully they will take onboard all the critique and make some changes.

Great review lads the lunch menu looks really good especially the steak. Big love to my Food reviewing family, Martin, Pat and TFT. The Gourmet Lads and TFT are the best reviewers in the country and deserve all the success coming.
Notice how the owner deflected from the question as to why some of the buffet containers are empty 😅 if they have 100 items on the buffet then as a customer i expect bare minimum to see 100 items available to eat not 60 not 75 not 95. As for food that has run out like tft said they should employ more staff to keep on top of items that have run out expecially when there charging top dollar. I think over time they will get the hang of topping up the food but they really need to work on getting more staff in and have all 100 items in the containers before they even open the door to the public.
By the way that biryani looked BANGIN!!! I wonder if the biryani in there buffet is the same 🤔 il find out when i go visit them in a couple of months time to see that and to see if anything changed on the buffet side 😎 great review and honesty lads as always

The Shakshuka is a North African dish. What you’re having there is an embarrassment to be called a Shakshuka.
Great review and on the whole I agree with the score but , there's always a but 🤣
The Shakshuka looked a little on the dry side and should never see a grill , the bread comes with it to dip and soak up some of the juices that I didn't see……towards the end of cooking the eggs are added to the dish and then covered while the eggs poach…the result is perfect eggs sat in a lovely spicy stew that you can enjoy dipping the bread in.
I'm a Foodie so apologise if this bores anyone 😂

Sorry, but I believe you have both missed the mark.
The other youtube food reviewers who have been there had the buffet.
There is a difference between paying for items you specifically select which will most likely be cooked to a high degree than buffet food, which can be hit and miss especially when the place is busy.
That building looked huge from the outside view. Did it really just house the restaurant? The food you showcased had real appetite appeal on camera, making me hungry for that biryani. I was curious to watch the TFT review on the evening buffet, which seemed to be a bit of a let down for him. Perhaps, since it hasn't been running that long, they are still calibrating the kitchen/restaurant. Would be interesting to see how they are faring in a few months time. Two critics, zero nonsense. Keep it up. ❤

Looks absolutely delicious… I've tried the buffet now i definitely need to try the breakfast and lunch menus… love your fair and impartial review… unlike a so called big YouTuber whose not so big in reality… only in his over inflated ego…… not only does the food look fantastic … you have proved it's delicious as well… looks like something for everyone…. well done to the staff and the chef….
