i was visiting my sister for our grandma’s birthday. the windows were causing glare on the TV so i absentmindedly pushed the curtains closer together.
without realizing the weight of the curtains caused the middle support to fail. it is falling out of the wall now. she paid someone to install these curtains. she spend months planning this to look right.
in the photos you can see the middle support falling falling out the wall. and then you can see how it’s supposed to look like on the far right
she’s pissed at me and i feel very terrible. how can i help fix this ?

You just need a heavy duty drywall anchor. Her installers did a crap job not using one on initial install.
Geez, did they attach the middle support to straight drywall? It should not be falling out just because you used the curtains for what they’re intended for lol.
Seems like whoever installed did a piss poor job. Should have used a stud or at least a heavy duty anchor if no stud was available.
It looks like it just needs to be screwed back in with a better support, or a bigger drywall anchor if there’s not a stud there. If she paid someone to install them and they failed because of a normal curtain use scenario like that, she paid for a hack job.
So first, pushing/pulling curtains together should not cause the support to come off the wall. Ever.
Especially not with curtains this lightweight.
It was likely not installed well by the man she hired, as the wall fittings that are supplied with curtain rails tend to be the cheapest the manufacturer can get.
To fix, loosen the screw that holds the rod, uncap the disk at the base of the support to reveal the screw head. Remove that and the wall plug and push the middle support to the side out the way.
If the hole in the wall looks fairly neat still, replace it with a better quality wall plug, and buy a mixed pack so you can pick a size that fits best. Replace the screw with one appropriate for the new plug and reinstall the middle support.
If you don’t know how to fix it pay for her to have it repaired. Make sure they use heavy duty anchors. There’s a lot of weight on curtains and they get pulled open and closed all the time so the brackets have to be fixed very securely to the wall.
There should be a plate behind where you’re securing that bracket. How long are the screws you’re using? You’ll need at least 2” to get enough purchase on the 2×4 plate anyone saying drywall anchors here is seriously mistaken.
That is a garbage install. Months planning??? No way. If this was planned right, closing the curtains wouldn’t immediately break something. I’m calling BS.
Everyone else mentioned adding an anchor screw, but the damn rod is also too long for just three curtain hooks.
Whoever fixes it next should add two more so this won’t happen again.

Serious answer: The brackets are specifically designed to hang the curtain rod from a ceiling, not wall (see below photo). My suggestion would be to use a studfinder to mount the brackets on ceiling studs or buy new wall brackets and install on wall studs.
Five brackets, not three, are needed since the rod is long. Five brackets should be strong enough to hold the gorgeous curtains since they appear light weight.

I’d ask your sister to call whoever she’s paid to install these because they weren’t done properly. That’s on the installer. I don’t know how long ago they were installed. But I would absolutely advise you to have her or you contact them and say they weren’t done correctly. She paid for the work- they should’ve installed properly. It’s on them.
