Hi everyone! My birthday is coming up this weekend and I’d like to put some money down for a nice bottle to celebrate. I work as a packer in a wine warehouse and I’m able to purchase for 75% of wholesale price, so I took a look through our “high end” section and took some photos of all the bottles I’d be interested in. Here wondering if you all have had any of these/have any input!

I know the Raen is killer. Very drinkable.

I’m partial to Bordeaux so the Angelus and Margaux speak to me, but there are some incredible Italian wines here too.

2005 Margaux is one of the best wines I’ve ever had. 2011 is a lesser Vintage but won’t be bad by any means and will cost far less.

My pea brain says that if you get a massive discount you should buy a more expensive bottle that way you save more money lol

My vote is for the ‘22 Chave Blanc on the basis that it will be most (emphasis on most) approachable now with a few hours of oxygen. The Chave blancs I’ve tried are some of the best whites I’ve ever drank. Unquestionably a great lineup to choose from, especially those ‘21 Barolo, however I like to give Barolo 8-10 years+ of time to see them really take shape and while some of course may be approachable now, you may run the risk of them being a little sleepy. With that, most of these are on the younger side notwithstanding the fact this is a hell of a lineup, and you can never go wrong with Chave.

Let the Chave breathe and let us know your thoughts!
