Find something skinny and narrow to push into that hole. An Allen wrench would do the trick.

Use a paper clip and press the lock pin in

Pro tip for future you. With small kids always keep a small Allen wrench above the door on the frame for situations like this. You can’t see it but it will be there when you need it.

We have the same door handles, you need a small flathead screw driver

If you have a cheap ballpoint pen you can take out the part with ink in it and use the straw to do it – we used to do it all the time when my silly little sister would lock the door and then close it with nobody in the bathroom

Take a pen apart and use the inside. Keep one on top of the door frame

A paperclip through that hole would work too.

open up a ball point pen and use the end of the cartridge. I actually leave one on top of the molding of my 11 year olds bedroom door

Depends on what kind of lock it is.

Check above the door frame; these doorknobs sometimes come with a “key” and that’s where many people keep it.

If nothing there, try the suggestions to stick something in and push, but if that doesn’t work then it’s probably the other type of lock.

The other type has a “slot” inside that you have to turn. So you’ll need a flat head screw driver, stick it in and then twist it until you feel it go into the slot. Then maintain pressure and twist it one way, check the knob. If still locked, repeat and twist it the other way. That should unlock it.
