Ingredients:

• 6 thick slices of wheat bread (approx. 250g / 8.8 oz)

• 2/3 cup milk (160ml / 5.4 fl oz)

• 2 large eggs

• 1 tbsp unsalted butter (14g / 0.5 oz)

• 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)

• 1 pinch ground cinnamon

• Salt to taste

Chef’s Tips:

• Bread Quality: Use slightly stale or “day-old” bread. It absorbs the custard better without becoming soggy.

• Heat Control: Fry on medium-low heat. This allows the center to cook through while the outside turns perfectly golden brown.

• The Soak: Dip the bread for about 10-15 seconds per side. If the bread is very dense, increase the time slightly.
