New pendant lights. Different back splash. It already looks very nice, and doesn’t need much updating.

New pendant lights and hardware. Go for bronze to pull the warmth of the floor. If you have the budget also change out the backsplash.

I would repaint the cabinets sage green.

I actually like your kitchen. You could replace lighting and maybe backsplash if the lighting isn’t enough. Painted cabinets don’t hold up.

It’s an interesting look as it is, and pretty. Why are you wanting to update it? I am baffled sometimes at how people with what appears to be a perfectly functioning and even quite recent kitchen are looking for ways to change them so glad you’re asking how to spruce up the look. (which again I don’t see the need for).
I would work on anything that is not functioning actually as you want it but as far as looks, the “antiqued” effect is fine.
Just cosmetic little touches like changing out the brown shades and curtain to something with color, maybe a pale olive green – might make it feel more homely. The “smalls” in the space could be warm tones and maybe terracotta – and your kitchen linens could also be switched out. IF you must.
Getting a little more involved, think perhaps about making the center island finish into a dark wood tone, perhaps like the countertop at the right, or even darker – for a more “furniture” feeling to the piece? And I agree a green cabinet color would look fantastic in the space, and might give you that difference you’re looking for. I would think about that… and leave backsplash as it is until you get whatever color you want on, then reassess.

This will look good I think.
Add taller trim to the tops of the cabinets so they go to the ceiling
