Emmanuel Macron said British people had been “sold a lie” as he blamed Brexit for the Channel migrant crisis.
James O’Brien goes a step further: ‘What if all the people who caused Brexit caused the small boats crisis, and still refuse to say sorry?’.
Mr Macron spoke out as he and Sir Keir Starmer unveiled the ‘one in, one out’ deal aimed at returning Channel migrants to France.
“Our increasing problems require cooperation, a European approach” rather than what “populists often sold”, he said.
He said the lack of a migratory deal with the EU after Brexit ‘incentivised’ migrants to make the crossing. “The precise opposite of what Brexit had promised,” he added.

This is a disgraceful reading of the topic. It’s not ‘Brexit’s’ fault – the blame lies squarely with our Remainer establishment not using our independence to set the agenda. The politicians have the power to restrict the visas given out, change rules, impose wage thresholds and reject the ECHR being used to let people stay who shouldn’t be here. It’s our own politicians who choose what benefits to give ‘asylum seekers’ – the French do not grant a fraction as much as we do nor do they offer such generous benefits or lax employment regulation. All of it is in our power. The wilful choice of our traitorous government to undermine our democracy and let this happen is ENTIRELY upon them.

It was Brexit we waled away from every agreement including one which said that other European countries including France had to take these boat people plus it was also closing down ALL legal routes by the Conservatives. Plus also the Conservatives going really slow on processing these boat people.
