The Hidden Labyrinth of Saint-Émilion | Underground Champagne Tour
This week, we step away from the tools and dust and dive into the enchanting underground world of Saint-Émilion, one of France’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage villages.
Dating back to the 8th century, Saint-Émilion is steeped in over 1,200 years of history. With its ancient limestone buildings, Romanesque churches, and cobbled streets, it attracts over 1.5 million visitors each year—and it’s only 15 minutes from our château!
But what lies beneath is just as fascinating…
We explore the secret labyrinth of tunnels carved deep under the village—originally used for limestone quarrying and now home to thousands of bottles of fine wine and champagne. This subterranean network is one of the reasons the area became so rich in winemaking tradition.
This magical experience reminded us exactly why we chose this region—for its history, elegance, and timeless beauty.
✨ Join us as we become tourists in our own backyard, sip some bubbles, and uncover the hidden stories of Saint-Émilion.
🎥 Special thanks to Vincent DUGOS at Drone Sud Ouest for capturing the magic from above.
