The back of the bench is secured! This was my first time using a French cleat for anything but it was so easy! I love that I can take the back off any time I need to (if I want to change the cushion or fabric or whatever). I made sure to hang it high enough that there is room to slide the bottom cushion out. That cover will be removable so I can wash it.
