  2. Always appreciate the thorough research you do and insider information you provide! I'm not sure about the politics in France, but the landscape and architecture are beautiful. You've made me want to take a closer look

  3. Thanks. US retiree getting dual US German citizenship. But France is high on my list to move to. Any guidance on best way to estimate my taxes beyond paying US taxes and inheritance tax for my children in the US.

  4. Excellent video! The south of France is highly underrated, especially when you get away from Nice and the Côte d'Azur.

Also, remember, the visa process for France is WAY for efficient than for Italy and some other southern European countries.

    Keep these videos coming! 🥳

  5. They Will be taxes as soon as the US are declared as a hostile power by the European Union.

  6. France is the most diverse european country. A village can ne enchanting and another one 2 miles away can be a nightmare. So think twice, rent first, and keep a foot on the orher side of rhe pond. Ah … Stay home if you voted for this bunch of * Or retire in Ukraine

  7. Love this! I just returned from a two week scouting trip to southern France; I am retiring/emigrating from Texas in May! I will be in Castelnaudary to start, and am looking on the Pau – Toulouse – Carcassonne "line"; close to my beloved Pyrenees, easy to get to the Massif and both coasts, and the Canal du Midi for cycling! I can't wait!

  8. If I was going to expatriate from the US to another country anywhere, the last place I would ever want to move to would be anywhere that any number of Americans have moved to. Getting away from other Americans is the #1 reason I wish I could leave this dumpster fire of humanity called the USA.

  9. People who haven’t physically moved to these countries should not be commenting and misleading people just like alot of youtubers do!!
Portugal no longer has NHR – non habitual tax exemption
    – 400,000 people waiting to renew their residency cards
    – Public hospitals in dire situation

  10. Americans pensioners must do a French tax declaration in France but because of the agreement between the two countries they will pay their taxes in America. Moreover, in order to get a permis de séjour, you are required to sit for a test to see how good your French is. Why do you call yourselves expat. You are emigrants like Columbians arriving in the USA.

  11. I’m so glad to hear that, but don’t forget France is run by elites who hate the French and are ruining the country thanks to the EU…even the healthcare has been neglected by macron and some people have already died in the Emergency cares

  12. Why Europa aloud to these racist stupid arrogant creatures to move to the European land, they destroy own dreams land and now colonising us. They making everything more expensive. We don’t want them here

  13. About taxes : that's not that simple, there is a convention between France and United States (or other countries)…and if you are "tax resident" in France (you are "tax resident" under specific conditions, like your family home is in France or you work in France or you stay most of your time in France) then you will have to have pay some taxes. The only advantage is some revenues are exempted from taxes. Get the best information before moving, for example at France Embassy 😉 In south-west of France and north of Toulouse, there are places where UK retirees like to stay, Dominique from Toulouse….a very soon retiree, who is teasing all your viewers to visit my hometown and the Occitanie province 😉

  14. we already see people from the north of France coming to our country from the south… if the Americans also come.

    I'm kidding. 🤭

    you are all welcome.

our regions are magnificent and people are much less stressed than in Paris.

(I live in the north for work, but I am originally from Castres in the Tarn, not far from Toulouse, a small pretty town, 50.000 inhabitants, in a pretty hilly area)

  15. I know some Americans who moved to Montpellier a few years back. They still haven't picked up French… Please try to put in more effort to integrate.
