If a parent allows their children to treat you the parent as a doormat, a housekeeper and an ATM then you have ABDICATED your role as a parent. Teaching your children proper manners, how to be an someone who contributes to society and the family, how to treat people including yourself with dignity and respect and how to tell right from wrong and then act on those teachings so they may pass on that knowledge to the next generation. Being your child's friend and ATM isn't going to teach them how to be respectful. It would just teach them to be a spoiled entitled brat.
