Every Sunday Tom Cannavan of wine-pages.com chooses a new wine of the week. For 15th February 2015 the Simmonet-Febvre, Sauvignon Saint-Bris 2012 from France is his Wine of the Week. This is a relatively rare wine from Burgundy – not made from Chardonnay, but from Sauvignon Blanc. The traditional appellation of Saint-Bris lies around 30 miles from Chablis in the north of Burgundy, and here Sauvignon Blanc is king.
